Online Darts League (ODKL) - All YOU NEED to know!

Updated: 3 days ago

SUMMARY BEFORE DETAILS

  • All your performances in the League, Monthly Tournament & Majors contribute to a 2025 Order of Merit

  • Cash Prizes & YouTube Revenue

You may have heard but in 2025 I will be taking over the running of the ODKL, picking up on the amazing work by Soph and Jordie. Who will still be involved!

This provides us all with a fantastic opportunity, to combine both ODKL & DartsMatt YouTube communities to create the best online darts experience on the planet!

My job, is to make it fun, a little different and build on the ODKL foundation. My intention is start small, with 3 or 4 games per month & a monthly tournament.

Therefore below outlines my plan for the ODKL 2025. I hope you like it and I look forward to playing, competing and meeting you all next year!

Below is information about

  • How My YouTube channel & The fantastic ODKL community is being combined and rewarding players

  • The 2025 ODKL Order of Merit which consists of;

    • The ODKL League

    • Monthly One Night Tournaments

    • The Majors!

How will I combine my YouTube and the ODKL

YouTube Ad revenue works through its partner program, where creators earn money from ads shown on their videos. Advertisers pay YouTube to display ads, and a percentage of that revenue is shared with the creators—typically 55% to the creator and 45% retained by YouTube. Earnings depend on factors like video views, audience demographics, ad engagement, and the type of ads displayed.

With Thanks

I am under no illusion that the base of this revenue comes from our members and subscribers. You guys. For context I currently earn around £30 - £60 per month, which is from a standing start under a year ago today making long form videos. But what if 2025 we experience rapid growth?

If we do, I want to reward you.

Therefore in 2025, I will be given away a percentage of this revenue to you. How can you win it? By taking part in Monthly Tournaments, The Majors and the ODKL (Online Darts and Knockout League).

There will be cash prizes, and a percentage of the Channels 2025 YouTube revenue will be paid out to the person who finishes highest in the Order of Merit and the person(s) who support the channel the most. Also, all entry fees will have a small percentage attributed to the order of merit so that pot builds throughout the year

League Points + League Finishing Position + Monthly Tournament performance= Order of Merit.

The Online Darts Order of Merit Points System

Firstly the league....

The league will be initially 3 or 4 games a month, I want to walk before we run. I suspect we will increase in time.

League size max 10 and then new divisions will be formed. The first league will run Jan-April.

The top four in each division advance to the Semi-Final (1st plays 4th and 2nd plays 3rd - the player who finished higher in the league has the throw).

League finalists are guaranteed promotion, and the bottom two are relegated. Other players maybe promoted in order of league position depending on players that renew into the next season.

Order of Merit - League Points

  • Your league points are added to your Order of Merit Points, also;

    • League Winner - 20 points

    • 2nd - 10 points

    • 3rd/ 4th - 5 points

    • 5/6th - 3 points

    • Other - 2 points

  • If there is more than 1 division, multipliers to your points will be applied. E.G ODKL Premier League (Your points x 1.2). This will ensure gaining promotion and playing higher leagues is rewarded throughout the year.

  • Matches will be best of 10 legs.

  • Tournaments will not be seeded.

Tournament Nights

Ran each month for £3.50

Tournament Majors

Ran every 3 months and replaces the usual tournament with an elevated prize pot.

March - The ODKL Masters

June - The ODKL Open

September - The ODKL Grand Slam

December - The ODKL World Championship

Order of Merit Points for places in Tournaments (Doubled in Majors)

  • 1st - 25 points

  • 2nd - 15 points

  • Semi-Finals - 10 points

  • Quarter Finals - 5 Points

  • Highest Checkout - 5 points

  • Entry - 2 points

Cash prizes will also be available for all leagues and tournaments. The prize pot will be confirmed before play starts and depends solely on numbers. As we start small with £10 being the entry fee for the league & £3.50 per monthly tournament the prize pot initially will be reflective of the small entry fee. As more players join and I search for sponsorship, the prize pots will hopefully increase!

Please note that all tournaments & leagues are free to those DartsMatt YouTube Members with a Club180 membership or above, excluding Majors.

The YouTube Revenue at the end of the year will be 10% for the player who is top of the order of merit. 5% for 2nd and 5% for all those with the most appearances across the year.

In a nut shell, the more we can grow DartsMatt Events, Competitions, ODKL and YouTube Content, the more money will be available in prizes! Let's do this together, one dart at a time!
